Charging at home is the cheapest way to run an electric car. We check your supply first, then fit the charger where it suits your drive.
A home charge point is a dedicated circuit from your fuse board to a wall-mounted charger, with protection designed for charging a car outdoors. Fitted properly, it’s safe, tidy and you’ll barely think about it.
Before fitting, we check the incoming supply, main fuse and board. Some homes need load management so the charger backs off when the cooker and shower are running. Rural properties may also need extra earthing arrangements for the charger. Then we place it where the lead reaches the car’s charging port comfortably.

Charging around Ripon

EV charger questions
Do I need off-street parking?
Yes. A home charger needs a drive or similar off-street space. Cables can’t be run across a public pavement without council permission.
Tethered or untethered?
Tethered chargers have the cable attached, which is convenient. Untethered ones have a socket and look neater. Both charge just as well.
Will my fuse board need upgrading?
Not always. If there’s a spare way and suitable protection, the charger can connect to it. If not, upgrading the board at the same time is usually the tidiest option.
